Evidence is confidence: How to create a richer evidential tapestry

Last Updated: Wednesday 2 August 2017

Evidence is Confidence: How to create a richer evidential tapestry is Realising Ambition's second Programme Insight, one of a series of short briefings sharing key learning from the programme.

Realising Ambition is a £25m Big Lottery Fund programme exploring what works to prevent youth offending. This briefing looks at the role of evidence when replicating a service, exploring:

  • The need to go beyond evidence of impact to assess effective replication
  • How evidence can give confidence in the effectiveness of a service
  • The different questions that need to be asked when replicating, and the evidence needed to answer them.

It also introduces the Evidence-Confidence Framework, a helpful tool for commissioners and funders to assess the strength and balance of different types of evidence for a particular service being replicated.
