Peer learning event

How do I know my evaluation is good enough: Evaluation leaders peer network event

This event is for

This is a peer learning event for people in Scotland’s third sector with a role to lead evaluation in their organisation.  There will be opportunities for you to share experiences and trouble shoot challenges with your peers.

About this event:

What counts as good evaluation?  How do I get the balance right between proportionality and “robustness”? How can I persuade others (funders, managers) that my evaluation IS good enough?

If you are wrestling with these or similar questions this event is for you!  ESS argues that there is no single standard of evaluation because it depends on what you – and your service users – need evaluation for.  But we’ll share principles to help you navigate the challenges and you’ll share your experiences with your peers.

By the end of the morning  we hope you will:

  • Hear tips to help you judge the quality of your evaluation
  • Have concrete ideas about how to address your own evaluation challenge
  • Have influenced ESS’s future work on “good enough” evaluation

At this event:

There will be a mixture of short input from ESS and discussions where you can share experiences and trouble shoot challenges with your peers.

Please note this event is NOT training and we won’t teach you how to write outcomes or design methods.
