The standards were developed for use by community organisations in England and Wales, but have general relevance for village halls, community centres and flats, resource centres and arts or sports facilities in Scotland. There are seven key elements in the VISIBLE standards: Voice, Independent, Service, Initiator, Builder, Local and Engage. In the workbook, each element contains a simple introduction before setting out the indicators, in the form of a checklist, to assist in reviewing evidence and planning improvements. The indicators may be useful for community organisations in Scotland to evidence and articulate standards or achievement.
