SIT? Community Connecting Shared Evaluation Tool

Last Updated: Thursday 17 October 2019.

Community connecting is an innovative project providing short term support for older people to reconnect or make new connections in their community. The RCOP Change Fund commissioned four third sector organisations to provide these service in distinct areas across Edinburgh, this included Pilmeny Development Project, Health in Mind, Places for People and Edinburgh Volunteer Centre.

Through a Stitch in Time? we have worked with these third sector organisations with the support of the Change Fund to make evaluation more meaningful and more proportionate.  Part of this work has resulted in the development of the community connecting shared evaluation tool. The tool can be used for planning outcomes and goals and includes baseline and impact measures.

Talking about the impact of the tool Caroline Clark from the Edinburgh RCOP change Fund said,

“It has not only helped me in compiling and summarising the information in a meaningful way as part of higher level evaluation reports, but also helped build partnership working and allowed providers to share experience and learning in developing the most effective evaluation tools. Effective evaluation will help to ensure a sustainable service which responds to feedback from the people using the service”.
