Stitch in Time Dissemination Event Report

Last Updated: Thursday 17 October 2019.

This is the report for the dissemination event of ‘A Stitch in Time?’, a programme to demonstrate the Scottish third sector contribution to care for older people. This full-day event, delivered and facilitated by Evaluation Support Scotland (ESS) in partnership with the Joint Improvement Team (JIT), took place in Edinburgh on 13 November 2013 and brought together 68 representatives from the third sector, the public sector, the independent sector and academia.
The main aims of the launch were to:

• Share our learning and progress so far in A Stitch in Time
• Check out whether we are getting it right and what needs to change
• Shape the next stage of the programme

The day involved sessions on:

The story so far – what have we been doing

Roundtable reaction: are we getting it right, (how) would you use the work so far, are you convinced

Exploring themes: world café on different aspects of third sector contribution and how to measure them

Using the evidence – presentations from:
Morag Barrell, Midlothian Council
Caroline Clark, City of Edinburgh Council

Roundtable – how we present our evidence to maximise its use

What matters to older people? What’s working and not in the system, are we measuring the right things? Evidence gathered by story telling

What next?

ESS got very useful feedback that will help to inform the next stage of the journey. A brief overview of the day and your feedback is given below.
